About Us
Mission Statement of Turning Points Ministries, Inc.
To be a unique ministry unfettered by tradition or legalism and passionate about perpetually seeking God in order to exhibit His characteristics of service, deliverance, evangelism, and holiness.
Vision of the Pastor of Turning Points Ministries, Inc.
The vision of Pastor Fred Lott, Jr. for Turning Points Ministries is that we be a unique branch of the body of Christ characterized by:
-an ongoing quest to let God “search our hearts” so that we may continually turn from sin and turn again toward Him (having “turning points) and therefore never become stagnant in our spiritual growth (Psalm 51:10)
-our deep desire to seek God first, fervently, and foremost instead of seeking to please man.
-our teaching of the true Word of God which bears fruits of:
-freedom from bondage
-freedom from legalism
-freedom from guilt and sin
-a proper vision of self based on the Word of God
-power to live full lives that are holy and pure spiritually, financially, physically and emotionally as stated in (John 10:10)
-our emphasis on debt free living and good stewardship of all that God has given us by including our:
-marriages
-finances
-jobs
-homes
-talents
-time
-Our emphasis on empowering the youth with a foundation of:
-faith
-hope
-purity
-righteousness
-knowledge of the Word and ways of God
-a proper vision of self based on the Word of God
-Our emphasis on striking a balance between outreach and “inreach” so that we reach out to the lost as much as we seek to equip the saved
-our commitment to and belief in prayer as an essential component and natural expression of our love for God
-our emphasis on each member establishing and maintaining an individual and meaningful relationship with God based on love and not duty which takes precedence over “church activity”
Articles of Faith
1. We believe the Holy Bible as the inspired Word of God, without any error, the all-sufficient authority in matters of faith, doctrine, and Christian living.
2. We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
3. We believe in the Virgin Birth of Jesus Christ, and that He is true God and man. He died on the cross for our sins. He rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven where He sits at the right hand of the Father and is now our High Priest and Advocate.
4. We believe that man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and therefore lost. Only through regeneration by the work of the Holy Spirit can man’s salvation and spiritual life be obtained.
5. We believe that eternal salvation is the free gift of God, entirely apart from man’s works, and is possessed by any and all who have faith in and receive Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior by first believing in one’s heart and then confessing with one’s mouth. We call this receiving of Christ as one’s Savior, “being saved.”
6. We believe in a regenerated church membership: that is, persons old enough to understand their need for Jesus Christ and, of their own free will, accept Him as their personal Lord and Savior.
7. We believe that baptism is by immersion and the Lord’s Supper is a memorial to His suffering and death on the cross. These are ordinances to be observed by the church in its present age. They are, however, not to be regarded as means for man’s salvation.
8. We believe that after a person has made a decision to accept Christ, he/she should be baptized by immersion in water to signify to all the inward change that has taken place.
9. We believe in the personal, bodily, imminent, and glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ and that His Second Coming inspires believers for dynamic and zealous life and service for Him while waiting for His return.
10. We believe in the everlasting blessedness of the saved in heaven, and the everlasting punishment and separation from God of the unsaved in hell.
11. We believe in the autonomy of the local church. The church shall manage its own affairs and shall not be subject to any other religious body or organization.
12. We believe that when one has been saved, the Holy Spirit comes to dwell inside him/her. This filling of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38) is significant because it empowers the believer to live the victorious Christian life and witness to others.
13. We believe Jesus Christ has given us authority over every demonic work of the devil. We believe in binding and casting out of demonic forces in the Name of Jesus.
